Magnificent pair of cast tongs with the arms set at right angles, they were found at a local “general” auction in a boxed lot of mixed silver. It is unusual enough to see tongs with right angled arms buta cast pair is very rare. They are beautiful tongs with acorn bowls, dated c1775 Thomas Wallis. Sold to Collector.
